Happy Birthday Harry!
"It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be." - Albus Dumblore
In honor of everyone's favorite wizard, let's reminisce on a magical trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood.
Arriving at 8 a.m. when the park opens is crucial. Waiting is for muggles. You'll want to make a B line for the Hogwarts Castle to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It took around 30 minutes to walk through the school to get to the ride. This is the perfect amount of time since there is LOTS to see inside. However, around 1 p.m. the wait was nearly 3 hours. Yikes! So much Butterbeer drinking time wasted.
Hog's Head Pub and Three Broomsticks don't open until 10 a.m., so what can one do to kill some time? Oh, how about picking up some wands from Olivander's to do spells all around the park? Yes please! The interactive, character replica wands come with a map of about a dozen locations to perform your magic all throughout Hogsmeade. WARNING: It is way too much fun, so make sure you're ready.
After all of this excitement, a good meal is in order. Three Broomsticks has what you're looking for! You will find all the meat pies and fish n' chips your heart desires to keep the theme of the day alive.
Then, back to more shopping and taking pictures of literally everything. If you go a little crazy, which is understandable, the shops will hold on to your purchases. You can pick them up at the front of Universal Studios on your way out at the end of the day. Although, your new HP towel may come in handy if you plan on riding the Jurrasic Park ride later...
